Celebrating our Learning!

Tuesday was a fantastic day! We were visited by the students from the other hubs to share our learning. Then were were able to go and visit Te Ara Takitini an Te Ara Angitu. We had fun seeing what they were up to this term and learning from them. Then we had so many families come to check out our learning. It was so fantastic to see so many people. Please remember that if you couldn't make it on Tuesday that our classroom is always open for you to see what we are up to! Check out the fun below!

We love reading!

We really love reading new stories in Te Rōpū Kura Pounamu and Te Rōpū Wawata. A few weeks ago we read the story of Maui and the Sun. We loved the story and we had so much fun with it that we decided to do a review. Check out our video below to see what we liked about Maui and the Sun.

ANZAC Day

We hope you all have all had a lovely ANZAC day today. We learnt a lot about ANZAC Day in the final week of the term. We read the story of ANZAC Ted and also a story about ANZAC biscuits, before we made and ate them ourselves! We also learnt about Mrs Ryan's Great Grandfather's service when she brought his photo and medal to show us. Mrs McKeown also brought in her husband's old uniform to share too!

Our First FISH Award winners for 2022!

On our final day of school for term 1 2022 we celebrated our first Fish ticket award winners. As the students move through school they have the opportunity to earn more and more Fish tickets. These add up every year they are at school and as they get more tickets they can earn more rewards. Each week they need to earn 10 tickets to get to fun Friday then we earn rewards in our class, our hub and then finally a whole school reward too! As individuals each student can earn a band to hang off their bag when they earn 150 tickets in a particular value either: choose your attitude, be there, make someone's day or play. Then when they earn 500 tickets they get to have a special lunch with Mr Wilkinson! Check out the band and lunch winners below!

Potatoes are not just for eating!

To continue on with our work this term exploring the harvest from our garden we decided to think about how we could use potatoes in a different way. So we thought about it and then realised that we could used potatoes to make prints. We had lots of fun with the potatoes and paint for this activity!
